Dr. Derek Campbell

Mb.Chb, BSc, FRACS, FRANZCO Consultant Ophthalmologist

Dr Derek Campbell graduated from Otago University Medical School in New Zealand in 1982 having previously completed a BSc degree in Chemistry in Auckland. Following specialist training in Ophthalmology in Wellington NZ he was admitted as Fellow to the College in 1994. Prior to joining Moreton Eye Group he worked throughout NZ and England as a Senior Registrar {Bristol, Leeds}, Fellow in Paediatrics in Leeds {subspecializing in Retinopathy of Prematurity}, Locum Consultant, {London, Birmingham, Shrewsbury} and spent time at Moorfields Eye Hospital London as a visitor/observer in Strabismus and Oculoplastics.

Currently he works as a General Ophthalmologist with special interests in medical retina and glaucoma and has extensive experience in retinal laser treatments and intravitreal injections. He regularly attends local, interstate and international meetings and is a member of the Oxford Congress, ANZSRS and participates in the College CPD program. Derek has three children and interests include tennis, golf, skiing, photography, overseas travel and theatre.
