General Ophthalmology
Ophthalmology is a specialty of medicine that investigates and tests diseases related to the vision and any part of the eye. This medical specialty dedicates to the study and treatment of diseases and refractive errors presented by the eye.
During the consultation the specialist will measure the patient’s vision, assess the degree of refraction, measure intraocular pressure (useful in preventing glaucoma) and evaluate any other measurements that might be relevant for the doctor to assess your case.
If you identify any changes that require the completion of special tests, or even the involvement of a sub-specialty your doctor will advise you. The General clinics are an opportunity for our specialists to make a full assessment and decide on the best treatment for you.
You will normally have already seen an Optometrist, General Practitioner or other Specialist that will have referred you to an Ophthalmologist for further assessment and treatment.
Please contact us for more information. To make an appointment with one of the Ophthalmologists click on the I’m a Patient link or call us on 07 3283 3488 to discuss the steps and cost for a consultation at one of our clinics.
For any surgical requirements we have a close working relationship with the Moreton Day Hospital which helps to facilitate an almost seamless experience between clinic and surgery.
